Tips for your special day

I am so thrilled to be part of your special day. Here are a few tips to help get us there in the smoothest, most zen way possible. With planning a wedding comes stress, and that has the potential to wreck havoc on the skin by causing breakouts and inflammation.

Here’s some tips to counteract this:

  • Maintain a healthy skincare routine: cleanse, tone and moisturise.

  • If you use botox/fillers, keep these appointments at least 2 weeks prior to your wedding.

  • Don’t skimp on moisturiser! But most importantly, exfoliate 2 days prior (get rid of those dead skin cells so your most fresh glowing skin is revealed on the day). Don’t go making any skincare changes the week prior.

  • No facials 2 weeks prior, unless you area regular facial goer and know how your skin will react. Now is not the time to experiment!

  • If you aren’t already using an eye cream, I seriously recommend it.

  • No squeezing any stress zits!

  • If you are getting any facial hair removal, including brows, make sure its not the day of, and go to someone you trust and have previously used. (I recommend 3 days prior).

  • Lashes are included in the service cost (we use individual lashes - these are temporary). If you are wanting lash extensions, I advise you try them before the big day as they can cause some sensitivities int he eyes and we don’t want any red puffy eyes.

  • I recommend getting a trial spray tan before your dress fitting to figure out if you want to go darker or lighter before the big day. A week before the big day, start exfoliating your skin in preparation for your spray tan. It’s also great to have a spray tan before your makeup trial (if you are having one) so you see how it will all truly come together.

  • Hair: I prefer your hair to be washed and blow-waved or air dried the night before your wedding day (unless you are adding a blow-wave to your service day). We will discuss this on your trial day what I think is best for your hair type. It is before to avoid any greasy roots, this will make it harder for me to style your hair and allow your curl (if required) to last the day. If in doubt - wash your hair!

  • Makeup: Prepare to have a clean face with your daily moisturiser applied unless we have discussed otherwise on your trial. We want you to be comforatble and if this means using your own skincare, this is fine! Ensure that your moisturiser has no more than a SPF 15. Otherwise I can give you the full skin prep session before we begin (at no additional charge).
